CONCLUSION
In an era where CD sales are constantly sinking and the music business in on the cusp of financial failure, summer music festivals are a staple. These festivals bring together thousands upon thousands of music fans in an attempt to re-ignite the concert spirit and potentially save the music business. It is interesting to think back to 1969 and Woodstock. Back then, you didn't have to look good to be a rock star. Your success or lack thereof depended largely on your ability to play a great live show. With rising ticket prices and an emphasis on music videos and iTunes track-by-track purchasing, what has happened to the art of the live show? Hopefully you will get to experience one or more of these festivals in your life. If and when you do, I encourage you to experience it all. Go see the bands that you've never heard of. Don't get there late just to see the headliners. Become part of the music community. It is this community that has kept the rock 'n roll spirit alive and kicking for nearly 50 years now.
