Band Booster meeting minutes
December 6, 2011
6 pm; High School Band Room
Members present: Bill Vliek (director), Jeff Landenberger, Jackie Leightner, Rachel Leightner (student)
I. Concerts
A. High School Concert will be Thursday, December 8th at 6 pm at the elementary gym. It will be a part of the high school arts night, featuring band, choir, and displayed art work. The choir portion will start at 7 pm in the elementary cafeteria. Elementary and high school art work will be on display before, between, and after the concerts.
B. Middle School Arts night will be Tuesday, December 13th, starting at 6 pm with the middle school band concert. The layout of the night will be the same.
C. Due to the close turn around in concert times, there will be no reception following the band concerts.
II. Money dispersion
A. The current usable balance for the boosters is $2394.73. Money will be spent on instrument repair (around $1500).
III. Middle School Dance
A. The band will be hosting a middle school dance to be scheduled in mid-January.
IV. Trips
A. Taking into account financial considerations, discussion was briefly held on whether to take band trips every 3 or 4 years.
